How to keep track of bills and due dates in one place
Rent on the 1st, the credit card on the 18th, the phone bill whenever it arrives. Each one is easy alone; together they're easy to miss, and late fees add up fast.
The routine
- List every regular bill once: what it is, roughly how much and the due date.
- Get a reminder a few days before, not on the day. That's your buffer for UPI hiccups.
- Mark each one paid as you pay it, so you know at a glance what's still due this month.
- Review once a month: anything that keeps surprising you? Move its reminder earlier.
What to include
- Rent and maintenance
- Credit card and loan EMIs
- Electricity, water, gas, internet and phone
- Subscriptions you actually want to keep
- School or tuition fees
